Dear Brothers and Sisters,

The Governor of Central Kalimantan and his wife oversee a foundation known as Yayasan Ibu which is dedicated to the welfare and support of under-privileged children in Central Kalimantan. I sit on the board of this foundation, which is the first of its kind outside Java. Between the 16-20 of December, Yayasan Ibu is holding a 6 day event in Palangkaraya with the theme “ Children and The Love of Peace “.

Five hundred under-privileged children between the ages of 4 and 13 from multi-religious and ethnic backgrounds from all over the province will be sponsored to come to Palangkaraya to participate in this event, which the Governor and Minister of Religion will open. In addition to the children, 100 adults who have be selected to become trainers will also participate. Ten experts or teachers in the methodology related to this program “ Loving Peace “ will come from Jakarta to teach the trainers. During the 6 day event the trainers will be instructed on how to effectively facilitate children's self-_expression related to “Loving Peace” by using programs of art, song, dance, acting, and discussion. It is intended that this program will become an informal part of the Central Kalimantan School Curriculum.
On the final day of this event, 500 scholarships will be given to the children. A 1 year scholarships is Rp 150,000 or approx US $ 18. I have personally provided 20 scholarships. The cost of this 6-day event is estimated at US $ 20,000 and will be provided by donations from both governmental and private sources.

I would like to appeal to you to help fund this worthwhile event and ongoing program, which is exceptionally well-organized and managed.

Being the end of Ramadhan, this offers us an opportunity to not only channel our Zakat, but also to support something extremely beneficial in the name of Subud in Central Kalimantan.

Please reply to this email address as soon as possible. Your donations and sponsorships will be made in the name of either YMS, SDI or YTS.

God Bless and Selamat Idul Fitri
