Zone 8 Colombia atractivo e intoxicando
Posted by Anonymous
Tuesday, July 15, 2003

Colombia lies at the gateway to South America and must have been a transit point for the first inhabitants who migrated from North and Central America. With dramatically beautiful rainforests, mountains and beaches, lovely cities and enchanting people, Colombia should be among the world's most attractive and intoxicating destinations.

Muhammad Subuh Foundation MSF Meets in Rungan Sari
Posted by HarunKennedy
Monday, June 30, 2003

The Muhammad Subuh Foundation held its biannual board meeting in Indonesia in March. For seven solid days, the nine trustees along with two international helpers and an MSF national rep met to discuss issues and forge policy related to its charter; to be the charitable foundation for all of Subud, to be a safe repository for members; contributions and to fund projects that foster the future growth of Subud. Much ground was covered in seven days. What follows is a recap of the highlights.

Trustees reviewed MSFs financial position, which remains healthy. Its total net assets are just over US$ 2 million. In 2002, MSF fulfilled its total share to the amount committed for WSC projects. This included a 25% increase in the amount MSF contributes towards the translation of Bapak talks (from $15,000 in 2001 to $20,000 in 2002 and beyond). Some other WSC-funded projects included the Tape Preservation Unit ($8,000), The History of Subud ($12,000), and the International Almoners ($5,000). 2002 was a slow year for housing grants. The only one issued went to the Jakarta Central house for $15,000. As far as the Wings go, MSF gave a $6,000 grant to the Indonesian Relief & Development Fund and pledged $2,500 to joint-wing travel.

The Trustees took a broad look at MSF's role in Subud, returning to the original aims of the foundation as outlined by Varindra Vittachi in 1991. Having satisfied itself that the MSF of 2003 was generally on track with these aims, the board discussed ways it can better work to support the current aims of the WSC. Communication and cooperation became the watchwords of the season. Trustees discussed ways to spearhead greater cooperation among the Wings, an initiative established by the WSC at Spink Hill. The board also approved procedures for improving MSF's communication with the WSC by distributing grant applications to WSC members for input and by improving coordination of MSF-WSC meetings. While recognizing the importance of greater communication between MSF and the organization, the Trustees also discussed the need to communicate directly to the membership about MSF by going to centers and gathering. A trustee may be visiting your hometown soon. The work ahead for MSF is great; and to help accomplish this work, the board approved appointing Rohana Mitchell to the position of vice-chair.
