Subud Youth A Hello to the World from Britain's Delightful Youth Coordinators
Posted by HarunKennedy
Monday, September 20, 2004
Dear All

Aisha and I are the sparkling new youth coordinators for Britain, starting out with all the enthusiasm and drive from congress. We have a few things on the boil already, so keep a space in your diary for Halloween (30th October). The plan is to get together at the Norwich Subud house, and any suggestions as to what you want to do and/or organise to do, would be very welcome. The house is in the Cathedral grounds which are very beautiful, and we’ll be having a bonfire so bring those marshmallows. More on this later…

We’re both keen to hear your ideas on a few things. World Congress is fast approaching, and we need to think about workshops that you would like to go to, or organise yourself. We also need to think Enterprise, and make some money for the travel fund.

It’s also possible that we can celebrate Hogmanay in style up in Perth, at the Subud house there, so any suggestions for entertainment etc. would be welcome.

We would really like to get in touch with as many Subud youth as possible, all ages welcome. Do get in touch with us by e mail: subudyouth_uk@yahoo.co.uk

Love and peace to you all

Louise and Aisha

Subud Youth The polish summer youth camp 2004 WEBSITE

Wednesday, August 11, 2004

Balduin Hesse was supposed to write an article these days about the camp, but i guess i'll be the one pointing this out since i didnt find anything so far on subud life

The polish camp was one of this year's best experiences for many of us, and keeping its memory matters a lot, at least to me. This is why I drew up, as soon as i finished my 43 hour journey, the page where everyone is sending the pictures they took and where you can post any comments about the camp.

www.polandsummer2004.tk

It's not a proper site, but we needed a place to share the pictures, didnt we. Everyone is invited to come and take a look, and ALL participants should try and send pictures, maybe scan prints if needed or ask for cds when you print them.

Thanks for the good time there, people. Emile

Subud Youth Youth Book
Posted by rhya
Saturday, June 19, 2004
Hello guys, it is oh so serious Rhyana with her bad spelling again.

Basically for a couple of years now I have had the idea of a youth book. I read an amazing Subud book, in all honesty one of the only books I read from start to finish. It was a series of short stories from Subud member describing how the Latihan had affected their lives. It was a very inspiring book, but I was also struck that many of the experiences written during the beginning period of Subud and often referring to Bapak felt somewhat far removed from my own personal experiences. During the same period, I experienced a time when I worked for Subud and felt that I reached an understanding for myself about the Latihan, which affected my life, or at least how I looked at my life. When I shared this story with others they would be encouraged to get more involved, or visited the site where I had been working. This added together and I thought wouldn’t it be great if young Subud members shared their experiences with each other.

So after debating for nearly three years I decided what the hell lets give it a go. A book of short stories from younger members, about their experiences of Subud and the Latihan. This is an experiment that may not work. And I hasten to add that it is not an exclusion of the older members or their stories that can give us so much, but just an opportunity for younger members to both share their experiences, (which some people may find are more connected to their experience of Subud), or put their voices out their and get evolved.

The “book” could be sold for a small price to raise money for Subud youth zone three, again an experiment to try and get Subud youth to raise its own funds. I am helping to organise the youth activities at the British national congress this August, and if possible to debut the “book” there. We will see if that is too adventurous. If it is a success maybe we can see about having it published properly. If you are interested, would like to know more, or would like to write a story of your experience, contact the email thebook_48@hotmail.com.

The story should be between 1000 to 1500 word, and in English. And like I say if this is not enough information send your email address to the above email address, or if you would like to be involved in another way. I am sending this out as I did not want it to end up being stories only my friends.

Thank you Rhyana
