I wrote this poem after the World Congress at Åmanacer 1993

Descent

wrenched by pain
shaking in bed

alone in a room
feeling half dead

seven circles
on a red brick floor

eagles surround
the Colombian sun

and you rise to dance
to invisible drums

in the seven branched dome
your feelings are calmed,

cooled in the shade
of a towering palm,

and hundreds of hands
in a tangle of love,

grace the descent
of a white dove.
