Hello there.

I would like to start this thread with the objective to gather input for the World Congress. Later Subud Life could send an e.mail to the World Congress team to offer them its users input.

What do you say?
Just pour out all ideas, thoughts, worries, things that you want to happen in this next World Congress.

I'll start!!
GOOD FOOD!!

Subud World Congress 2005...

I wish that it will be used as a very good moment to tell about Subud to the world... I don't really know how was it in the last congresses, but I am slightly worried that we are going to be busy with ourselves, and not really spread enough idea/info about Subud to the 'outside world'...

We've been discussing about should we advertise Subud, and actually an event like world congress is one of the best opportunity... So, I wish creative people in Subud will pull out lots of creative ideas to 'promote' Subud in a 'non promotion'/propaganda way during the congress!

... Any idea?

Definitely, a great idea. I remember with fondness flirting with at least three wonderful girls up there.

World Subud Congress 2005....
I hope the world congress will be a wonderful moment to build up again our brotherhood, since many bad things happen in the world (and my country, Indonesia)...let's hand in hand, together in harmony Smile

I have a lot of good memories from the rooftop cafe too. I couldn't stand it when they moved us into the basement of the theater. The open air was part of what made it so great. I don't supose it's realistic for this conference but wouldn't it be fantastic if there were a space that would work for an open air evening venue or club? Preferably one that wouldn't be too close to peoples homes so we wouldn't have to worry about making too much noise... again. Wink

It would be nice if young families with children could get a little break with registration/food costs. The idea that living in the US means greater access to funds is right but not for many young families who are second/third generation members with wisdom to share.....selling a car, as stated on the World Congress site just isn't a reality when coming home still means needing to get kids to school if buses aren't available. It may be easier for youth without children to take a second job but with childcare costs so high in the U.S., the second job usually just pays enough to cover daycare!
