Hi Esaias,

Is there any chance of a download of Sjahari's recent poetry programme. I missed it. Also when is his dance poem to music due? There is nothing on the programme page at the moment and that's one I really don't want to miss.

You're doing great work with Subud Radio,

love,
Yafiah

Hi Valencia

Great news about your compilation, I'll download it later today when i get back (spent the weekend with my sister and her family).

We are currently working on a new aspect to subulife to enable all the listen again and podcasting functionality to happen - this takes time to enable and I'm no techy - one of the team is looking into it as we speak.

I wonder if, since you have a penchant for such things, you would like to have your own spot to broadcast such compilations?

I can get you set up in no time.

I imagine you have skype and a mic and headphones? - If not there inexpensive to acquire.

Please add subudradio and esaias_hobbs to your skype contacts (skype is free) and we can IM and speak from there.

All the nest - Esaias (Director Subud Radio)

Would it be possible to have radio shows that are available at any time? As files that can be downloaded... like podcasts? I prefer downloading a show, and adding it to iTunes, so I can listen to it when I have time.

how does the radio show thing work? I've posted compilations of music on the web at other forums. I've got two that I'd like to share.

I've uploaded this one already, just click on the link and it'll start downloading. Make sure you have broadband, the download would take impossibly long with dialup. It's 39 megas. I could have made the file smaller, but it comprimised the quality of the sound.

It's a compilation of music I've discovered lately. I would recommend listening to this if you are in a mellow calm setting. It's mainly acoustic guitar, folk-soul-ish type songs, with great voices, some upbeat songs....

I made it thinking about the beginning of autumn. The lyrics in some of the songs are absolutely great. All of the artists are amazing, so if you can buy their albums, I would recommend it, because most of their songs are great.

I read on wikipedia.org that Sufjan Stevens is the son of Subud parents, one of his songs is included there. His music is great. Check out information about him at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sufjan_Stevens

This is the tracklisting of the compilation:

1) Be Here Now – Ray LaMontagne
2) Majesty – Madrugada
3) In Our Gun – Gomez
4) Dark Star – Beck
5) Hold on to You – Madrugada
6) To Be Alone with You – Sufjan Stevens
7) Empty – Ray LaMontagne
Cool Ladyfriend - Sivert Høyem
9) Your Heart is an Empty Room – Death Cab for Cutie
10) Sleep – Azure Ray
11) Bandwitch – Broken Social Scene

I've made another compilation, along with comments of mine between songs, of music in Spanish. I'll post that at a later date. The music is quite good. I made it a year ago, and my English speaking friends downloaded it. I got a lot of positive feedback.

Am I doing this right?

Enjoy the music.

Oh ooops, by the way, I'm Valencia, and I am currently living in Durham, NC, USA... a member of the Raleigh-Durham Subud group.

Mike,
It is called 'Create Avatar' and the url is
http://www.shrinkpictures.com/create-avatar/
Just set the number to 80 and browse your pictures to make one to fit here.
Let me know how it works out for you.

Harun,
Thanks for the historical info on this site. Now I understand, but I may have to stop sending messages so I can continue to be a Jiwa Dancer!

"I found a neat and simple program on the net that makes images smaller."

So, what is it? Irfanview or what? Thanks - Mike

Emmanuel, sounds good. Stewart Horthy as webmaster and Esaias as a technically literate creature are more than happy to have your feedback and practical suggestions on design.... Move fast as we are in the process of doing it now.

Rachman, this forum thread should shed some light on things Wink :

Where do the words 'Jiwa Walker', "newbie', 'Jiwa Dancer' come from? I find it interesting because I am a fanatic partner dancer and the words on my messages are 'Jiwa Dancer'! Do we choose those names, are they randomly assigned or received from above!?

I was finally able to make an avatar image from one of my photos. I found a neat and simple program on the net that makes images smaller. Even computer illiterates can do it!
The picture is of me playing the accordion at a national gathering a couple of years ago.

Eman, was it you doing Melinda's radio show or did you have your own?

I am lost with all the technical talk. In plain english what does 'this SAM2 software has the ability to generate HTML' mean, and does it have any dire consequences for my daily life?

Anyone on here doing the fast? Less than a week to go. I hope you have all received the Quodar by now!

Rachman

well, this SAM2 software has the ability to generate HTML, I'm assuming this is so it can generate play lists to either upload manually or automatically. So, it could go on in whatever way we see best...

Hey Emmanuel, you mean part of a unique Subud Radio Page for a new revamped site? Or what would you like to see? Design ideas and even practical support is always welcome.

I had a chat with Esaias today and we should have a more streamline and accessible site in which the other site features work more naturally with Subud Radio very soon people...

at some point we'll be able to have a website showing what's been played and what's currently playing...

I was streaming up some semi-random music at that point, it was Breathing Below Surface by Jesse Cook

I finally tuned in to Subud Radio and something is actually on! I just heard a couple of songs by Hamid Camp and some others that I don't recognize. Is there some way to find out who the other artists are? It is nice hearing the music but my curiousity is awakened and I would like to know what I am listening to. I finally found the schedule by going back through the emails and finding a link, but the times are a bit hard to calculate for where I am, so I am not sure what program I am listening to right now. It is 11:16 pm USA Pacific Time.

Eman,
Where might that 'printer friendly link' be? I could not find anything with that name and I am guessing I am not the only one.

I think it was here someone was asking about a calendar to print? Just click the "Printer Friendly" link, it will show a list of all upcoming shows.
