Everyone is invited to a SICA (Subud International Cultural Association) and Subud New York Weekend Gathering, Feb. 8, 9, and 10, 2002 at Subud Chelsea Center!
Marcos Jassan, SICA Board member from Mexico City and instigator of this event, says that in SICA we work together to link the Latihan with our outward expression, and in this way refine our culture. Bachrun LoMele, chair of SNY, feels that we are all in the process of figuring "it" out: ourselves in Subud. You'll be receiving an invitation this week via regular mail with the complete schedule.
But in case you can't wait, here's the schedule:
Friday, Feb. 8th
- 7pm Latihan
- 8pm Dinner (by Lee Noonan)
- 9pm Report on SICA's participation in the UN Summit on Sustainable Development
- 10pm Brainstorming session regarding SICA and UNãWhat are we doing in the world?
Saturday, Feb. 9th
- 10am Latihan
- 11am Expression and Communication workshop with Marcos Jassan
- 1pm Piano Play workshop with Joan Harkness, Subud NY
- 3pm Lunch
- 4pm Design a Toy for Your Spirit workshop with Suzann Rosenthal, SICA Coordinator from L.A.
- 6pm Talk "A Wider View," by invited guests from the WSC (World Subud Council), including Faustine Sfeir, SICA Chair from France, and Rohana Filippi, International Helper from SNY
- 8pm Dinner
- 9pm Music and Dancing, with music by Geoffrey Armes, East Coast Regional Helper.
Sunday, Feb. 10th
- 11am Brunch and Feedback at the home of Morag Benepe
- 2pm Latihan at Subud Chelsea Center
- 3pm Creativity and Talent testing for men and women, as well as the previously scheduled Small Women's Groups.

Morag Benepe has organized an exhibition of art work by several Subud New York artists! The show will be going up early next week, and will be on display throughout the SICA/SNY Weekend Gathering, Friday through Sunday, February 8, 9, and 10, 2002. Hope to see you there!
