Here is a brief on a 5 projects/programs - with contact links for more information if required - that are happening in Central Kalimantan - hope that will get some of you inspired.
1) BIG GATHERING in June 22-28 2002, in Rungan Sari to close Bapak's hundred-anniversary year. Accommodation in the eco-village, or backpacker style (cheap!!). Programs include dawn latihan on Bapak's bday, Ibu Rahayu's talks (TBC), Kalimantan briefing, workshops, tours, mineral exploration presentation, parties.... full on!! 2) YES QUEST 2 - after the Rungan Sari meeting (early July 2002) where 15 young Subud members will go though a 3 weeks deep self-discovery/ development experience including a week in the jungle! More info on that later - if you're interested let me know: rosanneleroy@yahoo.com
3) The KALIMANTAN GOLD CORPORATION (with Mansur Geiger, Rahman Connelly.), their mineral exploration together with their social projects including the Dayak attracted the attention and interest of the World Bank for example -

LAST MINUTE NEWS!! Mansur and Rahman will be in LOUDWATER (UK) on Saturday 9 March for a presentation of these projects - starts at 5.30pm, dinner at 7.30pm and then latihan at 8.45pm. For more info: rosanneleroy@yahoo.com
4) There is the KALIMANTAN SUPPORT GROUP who's been active in Central Kalimantan for the past 20 years! They have participative projects with local villages around Rungan Sari - Sachlan North and Lorna Dowson-Collins have just been there to review these projects. The KSG has won a grant from the UK national Lottery of about US$ 140,000 for the next 2 years.
