Muhammad Subuh Foundation MSF Funds Wing Travel to Cuba ( 2235 Reads )
Posted by Anonymous
Sunday, January 12, 2003
At its annual board meeting at Spinkhill in August, the Muhammad Subuh Foundation (MSF) voted to underwrite $2500 in Wing chair travel to Cuba this fall. MSF, whose mission is to support the aims of the World Subud Association, felt it was important to support the WSCs initiative for more cooperation among the Wings. The travel grant, extended to the chairs of SDI, SICA, SES, and SYIA, is intended to foster coordinated efforts among the Wings in Cuba.

MSF chairperson Peter Filippelli comments, "I have been asked to give a quote for this article. I realized I had nothing that should be quoted or even read, but as I mulled this over I remembered a quotation of Margaret Mead which I read in "Fruitful Droppings", writing about Varindra. I remember Varindra would use this quotation to describe our small band of Subudians. I think if Varindra were alive he would agree that this quote is applicable to this spirit of cooperation between the wings. The quote: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has."(Margaret Mead)
