World Subud Association Ridwan Russ 1,000 Days Selamatan 23rd November 2006
Posted by EsaiasHobbs
Sunday, November 19, 2006
On Thursday, November 23rd, 2006, the family and friends of Ridwan Russ will participate in a selamatan to mark the 1,000 days since his death in a road accident in March 2004. Alhazmi and Halimah, and our children Alexandra and Magnus sincerely invite our brothers and sisters in Subud who may feel to join us in latihan or prayer to ask that by the Grace and Mercy of Almighty God Ridwans' sins be erased and that Ridwan may receive all the help and guidance that he needs. We ask that Ridwan's soul be granted the very best possible place in the Life Hereafter, a place commensurate with the content of Ridwan's best deeds when he was alive with us in this world. We pray to God that the true spirit of our and Ridwan's spiritual guide, Yang Mulia Bapak Muhammad Subuh, takes care of Ridwan's soul always. Amin. We express our profound gratitude for the loving care and understanding for Ridwan and for his family. We ask forgiveness for all our sins and mistakes towards you.

World Subud Association END OF YEAR MESSAGE FROM OSANNA VAUGHN
Posted by Bradley
Thursday, December 22, 2005

Osanna Vaughn World Subud Association Chair writes:  As the holiday season progresses and we approach another new year, I want to wish you all much joy, blessings and peace in your lives and with your families, friends and fellow human beings!

Following its natural course, the intense energy of the world congress has flowed out into the world, working, I believe, its miracles in a thousand different places and situations. The life force that touches us through our latihan is a reality. We are aware of this to lesser or larger degrees, but that does not change the fact that it is real. It becomes clear to me that some times I acknowledge this and go through the day with a different kind of awareness; I feel more present and things seem to flow like '...a stream of water that, no matter what happens, it always finds its way.' Other times, I step outside myself and forget. This effort to acknowledge and give space to the great life force throughout my day is something only I can make; no one else can do it for me. We can, however, encourage and support each other. Since the Bali 2001 World Congress we have come a long way in achieving one of our goals at that time, namely, to have more large, international gatherings. These happened with a strong emphasis on kejiwaan and cultural activities. Other new efforts also arose, such as the YES Quests for youths. Social projects continued to grow. Finally, first initiatives were made in the international arena to rediscover what Bapak actually meant with the concept of enterprise; endeavour as many like to call it, to move away from the 'business only' mind-set. And we have come to understand that all these varied efforts are so closely intertwined that we can no longer see them as separate from each other. Even so, my impression is that we have not yet, as a whole, built a solid bridge between our individual latihan experience and our 'putting it into practise' in our daily lives........

World Subud Association Some proposals for the WSA's growth and development.

Report and Proposals to the World Subud Association By Daniel Cheifetz, WSA Chair Preface I can't imagine a group of people working with more sincerity or with a greater overall effort than this World Subud Council has worked. My conclusions come out of this mutual effort. I am quite optimistic that there are a number of practical and specific things that can be done in our common effort to renew the spirit of Subud, and I make some suggestions toward that aim. This is a Report and Proposals to the World Subud Association (WSA), which will meet at its Congress this Austrian summer in Innsbruck. The Report and Proposals are based on the 2001 World Congress resolutions, the experience of the World Subud Council (WSC) over the last four years, and what we have heard from Subud members around the world. While this Report and Proposals has been shared with, and influenced by, the WSC, it primarily comes from me as the chairperson of the World Subud Association. The Report is my summary of our situation as it is now – a situation that calls for change and improvement in our Subud association. The Proposals suggest an experiment in change. I do not think that we have to throw away our organization. I believe that we should work within the framework that Bapak gave us, and tend to the development of its content. But what we have now is like a garden that needs pruning, weeding, watering, and more light for it to be healthy and grow according to the reality of our world and the needs of all Subud members. We can do this with care and honesty, respect, courage, and love. We can do it from our receiving and with our action. That way, we will be able to really develop the movement of life that is our garden, and trust that whatever is not appropriate will not choke our growth. http://www.subud.net/img_upload/f466e5f350eb72b1d4b3cafce2a49378/Report_and_Proposals_4.pdf
