LA SOURCE LOUBETAS JULY 5TH TO 13TH 2008

We wish to invite you all to a European Youth Gathering in the French Pyrenees.
Apart from having fun and simply spending time together, visiting pools to swim like these or warmer thermal bathes or doing a sweat lodge… We would like this meeting to have some specific aims that we believe are important to us all:
2010 World Congress. The upcoming Subud World Congress in New Zealand, is an important moment for our community, we know that many young people wish to go, so we want to take this opportunity to look at the needs, proposals and interactive possibilities so that the youth can participate fully in the Congress. Recommendations would then go to the World Subud Council for their meeting in July.

International Youth Travel Fund. The IYTF will obviously play a part in helping younger members go to the Congress as well as other meetings. Still this Fund is not limitless and a commitment was made to find ways and ideas to replenish it. This is a moment when we can brainstorm and propose some concrete actions.

New Yearlong Initiative. This year’s initiative is about Looking at our Subud culture and organization. There are certainly issues and ideas that the youth would like to express so now we will be able to discuss them together and to also bring them to the attention of the international organization in July.

The special deal for the 10 days is 25€ a day full board, everyone will need to participate in the cooking, cleaning and general keeping things together.

For more information and to register please write to bernardes.maya@gmail.com and to check out the location go to the website www.lasourcepyernees.com

Greetings my lovelies from rainy Ascot here in the UK. So far our internet connectivity has not happened so actual live broadcasting may not be possible.
We are attempting to record 'Live Stuff' as it happens, then we'll zip off to the IT / Computer Room and run the programs for you all to enjoy!

So please keep looking at the website for updates and to check to see if we are on line.

Fingers and everything crossed.

Subud Cyprus

 Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Subud Cyprus has lost many beloved members over the last few years. With each passing, I was moved to write and share our sadness with the Subud World community. First we lost Hasan Fehmi, both a local and regional helper who had been opened by Bapak in England in the 1950s. Then Hasan Duba, a long-time Subud Cyprus Helper who was opened by Hasan Fehmi and served Subud Cyprus for over three decades. Then our beloved Said Yahyalar, who had served with both Hasan Fehmi and Hasan Dubah, passed away over two years ago. With each passing, we shared our experience with the world community.

When Neset Erkmen died last year, I felt no compulsion to write. I cannot explain it, but it is only now that I can write and share his passing. Neset, a longtime helper for Subud Cyprus, was one of the earliest members opened by Bapak at Coomb Springs. Over the last 13 years, as I visited him at his home in Lefkosa (Nicosia/Lefkosia) for latiahn, I always left feeling that a blessing had been bestowed on me. The latihan flowed so powerfully when we were around Necet, and his presence always brought a calm inner feeling to those around him.

Neset is the last of the Cypriot men helpers who were originally opened by Bapak and spent their lives in the service of all those who came and asked for the latihan. Neset's wife Myriam continues to serve the women members in Cyprus at their home in Nicosia and also continues to provide a latihan space for the men members when we visit with her during latihan nights.

Our dear Brother Neset was a gift from God. I can still feel that wonderful sense of centeredness that came in his presence but I do miss the opportunity to sit with him and often wish that I had done so more often when he was still here with us in person.

The members of Subud Cyprus love you dearly Myriam and Neset and we pray that we may be up to the challenge to fill those shoes that Necet wore with such ease and comfort.

Mashoed

BIG 2002 YOUTH FILM.....

Message from Salman Rogers, Britain:Way back in 2002, the Subud Youth Association Britain under Brianna Rose organised a project to make a documentary film about the British congress that year - BIG 2002. It was mostly shot by Alex Scott with the help of a few others including me. After the congress, the project rapidly ran out of steam, and the tapes were forgotten for the past five years. However, the tapes have recently been passed in my direction and I have transferred them to the computer. The material is 8 hours of random interviews and congress activities, mainly concentrating on the youth. Some of it is really good - probably more interesting now than in 2002. It is especially interesting to see many of you 5 years younger! The files are in DV format and still of excellent quality. I was thinking that it would be really nice to edit and screen it at Thankyou 2007 this year. Is there anyone out there (or anyone who might know someone) who wants to help with the editing? I could send you copies of the footage on DVD and perhaps we could get together for a day or a weekend to put it together (hopefully with Alex Scott too)... maybe SYA can be persuaded to fund our travel and expenses....(?) It might be fun. Video editing is really easy nowadays with big hard disks and lots of free software so you don't need to know much to have a go - although if anyone out there has relevant experience, please do come forward. We could also think about making a film of Thankyou 2007, or other movie-making activities, using SYA's video camera. xx Salman

last world congress, youth donation for stephen

Stephen Coony is a fellow Subud member of our who has been living in Innsbruck, since the world congress, will be undergoing an operation on his back on the 21st of February. Many of us know Stephen from the previous world congress in Innsbruck , and the condition of his physical health.
Stephen had broken his back in his early teens, and then underwent surgery; inserting metal plates along his spine to hold it together. After a few years he was in another accident, injuring his spine once again and damaging the metal plates in his back.

Hello Everybody,
This is just to let the Subudworld and beyond know that it has come to my attention (again!) that there are all sorts of wild rumours going around that the Loudwater group is all but
dead and buried! Well sorry but we're not and shame on you that do the rumour spreading! You may not be aware of it but it can have a very negative effect on the group. It does not contribute in any positive manner. If you have any criticism please don't hold back and let us know, just make sure that you have your facts straight, nobody died or is getting buried (either dead or alive).
We are working very hard on the future of Loudwater and can use all the help (in whatever shape or form) we can get. If however your only contribution is the spreading of wild and basically negative rumours then please stop. For any information you can always contact the committee or group helpers. This has been written on personal title and I do not claim to represent the group. I am sorry if I have offended or hurt anyone's feelings but I felt the urgent need to express my thoughts!
God Bless you all!

LONDON WALK on SATURDAY 20TH JANUARY

LONDON WALK on SATURDAY 20TH JANUARY

We all met up at City Hall or "Ken’s Palace", beside the river facing wonderful views of The Tower of London , Tower Bridge and the Customs House. Mairi Store (Chair of SICA) explained that there was a reason for the lob-sided spiral shape - to make the most of the sunlight and that it wouldn’t cast a shadow over the pedestrian area. It was designed in a very environmentally friendly way. The water in the cooling system can be used again for flushing the toilets, and the heating comes from the computers used in the building.
We then went onto the Hay’s Galleria, which was once a riverside wharf. The original wharf was much bigger than just the Hay’s Galleria, it stretched from the Galleria to near where London Bridge Hospital is. The whole area was known as London’s Larder. Today the area is known as London Bridge City.. We walked through Southwark where we saw the replica of the Golden Hind and Southwark Cathedral where we heard the story of St Mary Overy, before she entered the convent.

On Saturday 09th December 2006, Subud Youth and their trusted leaders attacked the Subud Radio Airwaves whilst on a specially organised Youth weekend gathering in Liverpool. In an unprecidented move, Louise Harrington, one of the ring leaders, helped conduct interviews by hi-jacking a local internet connection.Due to technical issues, Esaias Hobbs was unable to witness proceedings, the results of which maybe listened to on Subud Radio tonight from 20.00 to 21.30 GMT.Be aware, this group should be approached with extreme caution! They obviously had much fun doing it...For best results - PLAY LOUD - they experienced some microphone problems.Appologies in advance - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!Subud Radio
